To win more quick games some players will play 3 good cards along with 2 bad cards, reason being the 2 bad cards will allow for an easier opponent draw and you only need 3 wins to win out in quick games. The bad cards can be used as “throw aways” and the 3 good cards will secure the victory.
“BTC” (or BC) stands for ‘Blacktop Challenge’, the newest game mode that was introduced in MyNBA2K16.
“CD” stands for Cat Daddy, the developers of MyNBA2K16, WWE Supercard and NHL Supercard. They are a wholly-owned subsidiary of 2K Games.
Slang for “Duplicate”. When you pull a card that you already own then the new card you pulled is a “dupe”.
Whenever you reach a brand new tier your first board clear earns you a card of that tier. This only applies to new tiers, not tier levels; so you receive and Epic on your first clear in the Epic tier but not in Epic+ or Epic++.
“GA” refers to ‘Good Agent’, a team perk that teams can earn by placing top 25 in the RC or scoring enough points in the RTTC. Good Agent allows the chance to pull Star contracts off the draft board for certain periods of time.
When you play the game as fast as you can or for a long time it’s called “grinding” or being “on the grind”.
Hoarding / Stashing Picks
Some players choose to employ methods that allow them to stock up the draft picks they earned from quick games. Some simply enjoy drafting a bunch of cards at once while others save picks in a lower tier and then use them on the better draft board when they move up tiers. It should be noted that Cat Daddy does not endorse stashing picks and you will not be reimbursed for any lost picks that have been stored away.
“LU” stands for Lineup. This can refer to your season lineup, quick game lineup or 25-man RTTC/BTC lineup.
When something is reduced or weakened, it is “nerfed” (think soft, like the nerf toys). In MyNBA2K14 Dennis Rodman had the best card in the game before it was “nerfed” and made weaker.
NWGameDad is the username of Danan Davis, Senior Producer for Cat Daddy. He has generously made himself available online to answer questions about the game, announce changes and give clues for upcoming Rivals Clash and RTTC events. He can usually be found on Twitter and Facebook.
“OP” means Overpowering. If someone has a really strong lineup people might say his lineup is OP.
When multiple duplicate cards are combined into one, they are “pro’d” and become a ‘Pro’ card.
“QG” stands for Quick Game, the most prevalent game mode in MyNBA and WWE Supercard.
“RC” stands for Rivals Clash, a bi-weekly event in MyNBA2K16 where you play quick games to earn points; after 5 days rewards are given to players and their teams based on their point standings.
If you’re in a certain tier (say, legendary) you are guaranteed to pull a card from that tier after a certain amount of board clears. We don’t know the exact totals, but this function is in place so nobody can go on a terrible month-long drought or anything like that.
“RTTC” stands for ‘Road to the Championship.’ In this bi-weekly event you earn special cards by winning quick games in that tier. Eventually you can make it all the way up to a special RTTC event card.
Some players will use their best cards for starters and backups in seasons but use bad (Common) cards as their reserves in attempt to draw easier season matchups. The effectiveness of the tactic is in question, but the act is called “Sandbagging”.
“Scamazon” refers to a promotion that Amazon put on in May 2014 that allowed some Android players (through a highly-involved and lengthy process) to earn a large amount of in-game credits for free. The promotion lasted a week and Amazon has shown no indication that they will do it again.
Tanking is losing purposefully in a season to get different rewards, or conceding to a better team to save time.
To aid in fair competition each player is put into a quick game tier based on the strength of their quick game lineup and they play against other teams in the same tier.
Trucks / Trucked
“Trucks” are players with really strong lineups that blow through the competition in seasons; when you lose to those teams you get “trucked”.
